Matt Damon doesn't understand why more people aren't shocked by the selection of Sarah Palin and he calls the choice "crazy".
Some really really good points from the man who starred in another popular youtube video, "I'm Fucking Matt Damon".
He calls the entire scenario "like a bad Disney movie where the hockey mom becomes president".
Yeah, Matt, if that Disney movie was directed by Leni Riefenstahl and the wacky neighbor was played by Josef Stalin (he's at CAA, right?). Also, for that classic Disney tear jerking scene - like in Old Yeller - the dog would get shot. This time by a hunter in a low flying plane with Palin writing him a check for $150 for doing it.
It is really scary. I hope everyone is not only registered to vote, but is talking to friends about this mess.

As a foreigner here living here in the US (student visa, working on my Phd), I wish I could vote, because even though I am not planning on staying in the country once done, this election will determine a goodly portion of the rest of my life here.
Palin really scares me. Unlike Shrub, Cheney, or McCain, Palin actually BELIEVES in the same stuff the nutjob fundamentalists do. It's not platitudes to mouth in order to get them out to vote for her. She actually wants to go all Handmaiden's Tale on everyone.
She's dangerous, it's like they appointed some combination of Huckabee's extreme religiousity with Ron Paul's utter insanity, and put it in heels.
I just don't get why people don't see this woman for what she really is. I jsut don't.
Though I have to say, it was a masterful move by the Repubs politically, as scary as she is. Not because I think they'll win, because I still think Obama has this, but what she could do if she did get in.
