GLAAD Throws a party to honor all the Film Nominees

Last night GLAAD - The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation - held a lovely cocktail soiree to honor the feature films nominated this year.  It was held at a gorgeous house way up in the Hollywood Hills overlooking Lake Hollywood, The Hollywood Sign, the Griffith Observatory and downtown.

Representatives from the following features were there:  Milk, Shelter, Save Me, Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom and Edge of Heaven.  To complete the celebration of lgbt positive film representations, Thea Gill and Robert Gant from Queer as Folk were also there, as well as the Nick Oceano and Alex Loynaz of MTV's Pedro*,  uber new queer cinema king Greg Araki (Mysterious Skin, The Living End) and Mr. Wilson Cruz.

I'll let a photo tell a thousands words.  The NYC GLAAD Awards happened last week, and the Los Angeles ones are happening April 18th and it's not too late to get your tickets by clicking here.photos by Brian Putnam and Tony DiMaio.

Pedro is the narrative feature about Real World housemate Pedro Zamora who was one of the first reality show stars to come out, and he shared with America via our television screens, his courageous battle with HIV/AIDS. It airs tonight on MTV and LOGO.

Hey JD. Thank you for producing Shelter. I have never been so connected to a film before. It was amazing. Congrats!

Hey JD - Congratulations! Quick question - will leads like Trevor Wright be able to land jobs in mainstream film markets? He was good in the film and would be sorry if he couldnt branch out.
