New Year's Resolutions

Hello Kittens,

Well, I'm not really into making resolutions for New Years, as such, but this year I made one, which I'm going to share with you.

I made it simple so basically there is no way I can fuck it up.

If any of you are still buying $3 coffees every day at your local java joint, here's a great idea for the New Year that helps the environment. Bring your own mug!

Come to find out, those starbucks cups and plastic lids are really non recyclable. Considering how many people in America - from Coffee Bean to 7 Eleven - buy their coffee in one of these every day, that's a lot of real estate at land fills.

Most coffee joints now offer a discount when you have your coffee or latte put into your own mug.

I've already cut back on how many times a week I'll let myself spend money at Starbucks - but it's one of the few companies that have great insurance for their employees, have worked to make positive changes in their business, and also give in a big way to LGBT non profits across the country. (and remember companies like Coke have a majority shareholders of the Mormon Church!  So it's important in every day spending to hand over your consumer dollars to companies you like and that support YOU!) So it's better I toss them my disposable income if I'm going to indulge in coffee.

So I figured, this is something so small and easy to do, yet will make a huge difference for our environment if everyone got on board. I'll be honest with you, I hate these travel mugs. But I have a really cute one now (pictured left), and I'm getting used to the system.
